Mythical DAO, the band of seekers

Season 6 will see the introduction of the most sought-after tool in this mythological quest: the collective of adventurers, in the form of a DAO, will be given a space to plan and discuss the best way forward. The search for the crypto-animals will no longer be an individual adventure of lone wolves, but a collective, planned and self-funded effort. This changes everything!

Why a DAO

The Mythical Beings community has grown through the project’s discussion channels, especially Discord and Twitter, and has created a wonderful group of adventurers from all over the world. Sharing a common passion is a good incentive for this, as is the need to find colleagues with whom to trade repeat cards. Until now, however, this community has shared experiences and advice, but not a collective mission and plan: each adventurer has followed his or her own path, and the overall direction of this cryptozoological mission has been determined solely by the Tarasca team.

The Mythical DAO comes to empower this community. It will provide tools for communication, discussion and user decision-making, as well as an economic fund to carry out the collective projects decided upon. In this way, users will be involved in the strategic direction of the project and will become co-participants in its tribulations. In this post we will explain in detail what this DAO is.

DAO Missions

Mythical DAO, as a community of Mythical Beings users, will be dedicated to the improvement and promotion of the card collection and the upcoming games that use these cards. It is an open space for opinion and discussion, and can act autonomously from the publisher. The DAO can carry out its own promotional activities, design and contract specific developments, even new games, etc.

DAO Tools

The DAO’s internal communication will take place in private rooms accessible only to members. Thanks to new token-gate applications, we will be able to provide access to private rooms in different spaces, anonymously and in a decentralised way. In particular, we will have two main spaces:

• Chat. There will be a private room on our Discord server for DAO members, verified by the guild.xyz service.
• Forum and suggestions. This more elaborate communication will take place on Charmverse, a web3 alternative to Notion.

The management of the Mythical DAO Treasury will be carried out in Tally, a framework for decentralised autonomous organisations. This is where spending proposals are made onchain, and where members vote for or against the use of the budget for each proposal.

How it works

Governance Token

MANA is the governance token of the Mythical DAO. It is an ERC20 in Polygon and grants voting rights in the DAO and access to private spaces. It is earned by participating in the dynamics of the collection and demonstrates commitment to the quest.

MANA can be bought and sold freely on the Ardor DEX and within the Mythical Beings wallet, and it will be listed on Polygon’s DEX.

MANA distribution

There is a fixed, unchanging supply of 1 million units of MANA. The contract is written in such a way that no more units can ever be minted, and all units are created from scratch.

The distribution of MANA will be as follows:

• 600k will be distributed as jackpots in seasons 6 and 7.
• 150k will be kept by Tarasca.
• 150k will be distributed as airdrops to GEM and special card holders.
• 100k will remain in the Mythical DAO Treasury to reward quests or for future public sale if members so desire.

The DAO Treasury

There are several ways to fund the DAO that Tarasca is offering in this first phase to provide resources to the collecting community:

• All royalties from the secondary card market and GIFTZ will be paid into the DAO Treasury.
• A percentage of all GIFTZ sales. 10% of the wETH from card sales will go directly into the DAO treasury.

Right of exit

There is a safety mechanism for token holders that can be used in various situations where a member wishes to withdraw from the DAO. For example, if they disagree with an investment that they feel is ruinous to the DAO, or if they disagree with the strategic direction of Mythical Beings, or if they believe there is a malicious majority of holders. For these cases, the Mythical DAO will implement the exit module developed by Zodiac, thanks to which any member can, at any time, retourn their MANA and receive as compensation the proportional part of the DAO’s treasury. This exit takes place immediately, before the decision the member disagrees with can be implemented.

In addition to a security measure, this module provides a floor for the value of the MANA token.

Important clarifications

This DAO IS a community of users for the promotion and development of the Mythical Beings universe.
It is NOT a corporation.
It does NOT own Mythical Beings.
It is NOT for profit and will NOT pay dividends.
It IS independent of Tarasca, it can make its own decisions and follow its own path.
